I for one would really love to hear the *technical* history of these protocols like #ostatus and #activitystreams and #activitypub etc, and why some things were abandoned, changed, and in hindsight, whether you think they ended up in the right place. You know this better than anybody I think!

The degree to which #Web20 companies sought to colonize the #Web never seizes to amaze me.

A hashtag is the fundamental unit of Web Magic, once understood. Basically, name things using hyperlinks (ideally, #HTTP variety) and connectivity magic happens, at Web-scale.

The #Fediverse itself is the latest demonstration of said magic, courtesy of #ActivityStreams 😀

Great conversation between @evan and @ricmac about #ActivityPub and #Fediverse. I really appreciate the inclusion of early #ActivityStreams work (which has been overlooked by some recent fediverse history threads) as well as recognition that Mastodon and and other ActivityPub implementations we have today aren't the end. The vision hasn't been realized yet, so let's keep working toward it.
