I just completed "Tuning Trouble" - Day 6 - Advent of Code 2022. The task was really easy for me and I found the solution quickly, so as an additional challenge I started using #HelixEditor instead of #NeoVim. I need to relearn some basic shortcuts that I've known for years in NeoVim, but I like Helix it so far. #AdventOfCode https://adventofcode.com/2022/day/6 https://salsa.debian.org/silwol/aoc2022/-/blob/main/aoc06/src/main.rs #RustLang

yeah this was a pretty simple one but we're on day six; last year (the only other year i've done AoC) I think i gave up on day 13 or so because I got lazy and didn't want to implement a-star.
Participating for the first time this year, it was fun so far and the most challenging puzzle took less than two hours, while most of them were somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes. Let's see how this evolves over the advent, if I have to invest 2 hours or more per day, I certainly won't finish all of them, but for now I'm confident. Of course I'm far from landing on the leaderboard. 😃

yeah the leaderboard is full of bots this year sadly. even on a good year there's so many people you're unlikely to get up there. Private leaderboards can be fun, though!

And the puzzles get more and more complicated; last year I dropped out not because it was too hard but just because it was too time consuming for me.
