I've been wondering how life would play out if we lived to 1000, instead of our average 80 odd. Would we get over our traumas, upbringing and experiences, or would we become hardened and ossified by them? What would relationships look like? The only exploration of this idea that I've read was Buying Time / The Long Habit Of Living by Joe Haldeman. Any other pointers to such fiction would be appreciated. #sciFi
@Duracell Benny ⚡ This reminds me of the movie In Time (2011) where life expectancy has become currency, and economic inequality means that the lower class only live a few decades, while the rich at the top have virtually infinite life expectancy, so they are spending quite a bit of their wealth to pay handlers to prevent any physical injury to their person. The movie isn't very good otherwise, but this particular detail felt like a genuine exploration of what it can mean in practice to not age.
