Already tired of the people pointing out that Chinese LLM-powered chatbot sensation DeepSeek doesn't answer questions about specific historical and geopolitical points of contention held by the current Chinese government.
Out of all the reasons I can think of to justify pointing this out, none of them sound good to me. No LLM is unmoderated, no LLM is accurate, no LLM is unbiased, and no LLM can afford to defy their local authoritarian government. Even the biggest American tech companies have recently taken steps towards this inevitability, even ahead of the new US authoritarian government entering office.
