Tonight on #Twitch, I witnessed the funny epilogue of a 7 hours journey into flying a modded Airbus A320neo from San Francisco to Portland in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I joined 4 hours in the stream as the plane hadn't even lift off yet, the actual flight on auto-pilot lasted for about 3 unremarkable hours, and after a hectic approach, this happened:
Always announce your intentions on CTAF, or if the tower is operating, get a clearance.
@Brad Koehn ☑️ Microsoft Flight Simulator actually has a pretty extensive array of ATC calls and responses, in this case it was a multiplayer session, so another player just parked their plane on the runway where the streamer was supposed to land. This practice of taking advantage of a video game streamer in a multiplayer game is called "stream sniping" but I only knew about this behavior in strategy and first person shooter games.
