Recently took place the most important #ESport tournament of the year for #Dota2 players and viewers, Valve's The International. I was a little worried when I read the blog headline "In-Game Advertisements at The International" from Valve, but to my good surprise, it was outlining how none of the teams sponsors names and logos would be appearing in-game through team banners, base logos and player name tags during the tournament's games.
After the Ryadh Masters at the Esport World Cup, the previous major Dota 2 tournament which heavily featured advertisements, both in and off-game, it is a breath of fresh air. Valve doing it right. ๐
In-Game Advertisements at The International
The International is a celebration of Dota and the global community of players and fans who support it, providing a chance for everyone to come together and see it played at the highest possible level by the best teams in the world.Dota 2

•@Ed Iโm currently catching up with the VOD Twitch streams, so far so good. No spoiler please!
I attended the main event in Seattle last year for the first time and it was somewhat disappointing. Tickets were expensive, there was no show match, and the grand finals were expedited pretty quickly. But I went with my next brother who lives in France so it was worth it and I would do it again.

•DO NOT check my profile then, DO NOT do that (even if it's italian).
Yeah apparently the last TIs has been a bit lackluster in that sense, sadly.
But hey, I liked the matches this year!
Who are you rooting for?
We're trying to use the hashtag #DotaSeason for the next tournaments to follow and comment on the upcoming Dota Season here on the Fediverse if you're interested ๐

•@Ed Iโm first and foremost rooting for individual players, so I end up rooting for several teams at each tournament:
- Quinn from Gaimin
- Topson from Tundra
- Miposhka from Spirit
- XinQ from Xtreme Gaming
My brother already spoiled me the grand finals ticket but I still donโt know who won. ๐ค
And Iโll happily follow the hashtag, I feel a little isolated in this hobby of mine, both in terms of playing (mostly against bots) and watching professional tournaments so I wouldnโt mind some company!

•let's keep in touch then! And if you write some impressions on this year TIs feel free to tag me, I'll gladly talk about that!
p.s.: you forgot Boxi, I was rooting HARD for the guy since I saw the video about his past.

•do not read any comment on the Youtube video - and maybe don't check related videos too - but here you go: https://invidious.nerdvpn.de/watch?v=NOoWJocIjsc
Be aware that it's very emotional as he talks about his health problems and the death of his mom.
Boxi's story and why he's going to win TI
