It's one thing for a #Mastodon user to ask another Mastodon users to use CW because neither have user-defined filters that could do the same, but it's a little irritating to me when a Mastodon user makes a similar request to a #Friendica user because we do have extensive user-defined filters.

@Jonathan Lamothe The specific request for CW I saw was about long posts. And I believe Mastodon is more commonly used in part because of its Twitter-like affordance.

@Hypolite Petovan Been on the fediverse since 2018, during the twitter migration suddenly out of the blue was being told alt-text and CWs were RULES OF THE FEDIVERSE. That was news to me. I try and use them when possible now, but seriously. I tell them that Friendica doesn't have easy versions of them and they say that's a problem, even though like you said we have other tools that makes it not a big deal..

@anubis2814 I can't blame them from judging Friendica, after all I'm judging Mastodon myself. But yeah, this is a culture shock that will last as long as Mastodon has a sender-first filter approach compared to Friendica's receiver-first filter approach.

@anubis2814 No, but they are mostly right in sheer number of servers/users. This is a reality that we at Friendica have to contend with. Any consideration is welcome but it definitely isn't expected
