#MiniReview #VideoGames I want to like Sockpop games, they always have a fun concept, naive but charming graphics, but I always end up giving up after a few hours. And Luckitown (2022) is no different. Sort of a minimalist Dice Legacy (2021), this dice-based tower defense limits what you can build on your turn depending on the roll of several dice. Some buildings eventually give you more dice, and you can hold specific faces between rolls, but the game always reach a point where guessing what the advancing monsters will do on their turn is impossible and the player is left crossing their fingers really hard. More dice also means longer player turns, leading to a significant bogging down of the gameplay halfway through a four-season run.
