how to render eg twitter urls in friendica?

@Friendica Support

Hi there,
my friendica node does not render the content of eg. twitter urls.
this is how it looks like:

1957

this is how I want it to look like:

1959

I tried to flip the "oembed"-setting in admin panel, but nothing changes:

1961

Does anyone know what to do about it?

greetings
Joe

Well, you disabled OEmbed and didn't add "twitter.com" to the allowed domains so Friendica doesn't try to show rich content at all.
thx for your answer, I added some URLs and did some testing with the oembed-box, but it still does not work

is there anything I need to activate in apache or php?
I don't think so, activating either OEmbed or putting twitter.com in the allowlist should do the trick. Maybe the remote author didn't embed the tweet, and what you see is what they themselves posted.
@Joe Slam try to replace twitter.com with nitter.eu, that works better for embedding.
thx utzer, but it doesnt work either... :/

@Joe Slam hmm for me embedding is not working well either, but nitter usually works and Twitter never does. Embedding seems to be not that easy.
@Joe Slam maybe there is something server side blocked or your IP is blocked by Twitter. My IP is blocked by 500px for example (actually Cloudflare blacklist and 500px uses the wrong setting).
are we two the only ones struggeling with oembed or should I open a ticket at github?

OEmbed for twitter also doesn't work on my raspberry pi3-friendica-instance (Raspbian & LAMP). So, this might be a bug. (I circumvent this problem by posting an image with link.)
