🇺🇦 ☢️🏚️In 2016 I visited the #Chornobyl Exclusion Zone in Ukraine.

A whole city left abandoned following the disaster at Reactor Number Four of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant at 1.24am on 26th April 1986.

Within the 20km Exclusion zone, streets have been taken back by nature. Homes, hospitals, schools, sports complexes, shops and cafes. Frozen in time,

@Obsidian Urbex Photography Cool! I've always been fascinated by the place, enjoying its rendition in video games like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, but I've only learned recently that the iconic Ferris wheel with the yellow gondolas never actually entered service. The park it was included in was scheduled to open to the public a few weeks after the Chernobyl incident, and so nobody actually got to use it before the area was evacuated!
