All right! I'm creating some community moderation feature requests on #Mastodon, and I'm going to drop links in this thread each time they're created.

The feature requests are:

1. Turn off comments
2. Lock comments
3. Approve comments
4. Flair profiles
5. Adjust crowd control

Will add updates!

Isn't all comment control features basically force people to create a new thread _manually_?
I mean, if I want to react on a non-commentable post I have to create a new post mentioning people; I don't yet see how this will not lead to even more fragmentation, basically stopping people not in mutual follow relationship to participate in conversations in any meaningful way. Kind of locking the communication bubbles down even more. (Maybe that's the purpose: I can't tell.)
@grin Yes, that's part of the purpose: make it inconvenient to comment, but also force it elsewhere.
@grin
And it is considered a very bad idea by a lot of people. Also even oldtimer fediversians don't fully agree with you. I accept your opinion, as well as the opinion of many, but still other many people think very differently, both about the goals, purposes and the means.
