The way that holidays have been commercialized and trivialized into meaninglessness implies that we shouldn't have meaningful holidays in this country. Just name them Holiday 1, Holiday 2, e.g.

go for the descriptive name, Third Monday in June Holiday, Last Monday in December Holiday (they all have to be on Monday for the 3 day weekend effect)
