Trying out Mastodon... I don't get it: How far does the "federated" timeline go? Do I see all messages on all Mastodon servers worldwide?? If not - which do I see?

Hi, the federated timeline shows all the public posts from around the #Fediverse that your own server knows about. This usually means that one user on your instance follows another on a different instance, thus bringing their posts to your instance.
