As a Belgian a can confirm; use the ring glass insult the beer. The one example is an exception however, most beer is 25 cl, 33 cl, 50 cl or a magnum which is a liter. But the last is also an exception. Also it will not be the quantity at first that will neck you, it's the alcohol contents and most foreigners want to be though and show their drinking skill.
