St. Nicholas Coal Breaker, Mahanoy City, PA - For several years, this was my photography playground. I have been in every inch of this place. Unfortunately, it is now just a field. I really miss this place. More story and shots will be added to this thread if it gains traction.

Two rows of metal framed benches with slat wood tops on both right and left of the photo. The benches are lined with pairs of old workers boots. One of the boots has a rusty chain wrapped around it. This chain was used to raise and lower a basket that the workers would keep their clothes in to keep the heavy coal dust off them. The floor here is very dusty and dirty and the wall is two-toned with brown on the bottom and yellow on the top.

A large "office" room constructed of I beams, cinderblocks, corrugated panels and concrete. There is an old office desk in front of a large industrial window with broken glass in the center of the photo. A single folding chair sits in front of the window. There is file cabinet to the left and an old wooden table. Above is a rusted fluorescent tube light and more I beams covered in rust. Papers and detritus covers the floor.

A large blue painted control box roughly 7ft tall is in the middle of the shot. Above it is a very large rusted I beam holding up a concrete ceiling. There are large dials and meters on the box with switches resembling a giant ancient computer device. Tubes run along the ceiling and down the wall. Large steel support beams can be seen in the background and a narrow set of stairs are leading up along the left side of the photo. The floor is thick with dirt and dust with hundreds of boot tracks in the dust. Everything is covered in rust and patina.

A large four section building with each section going left to right being smaller than the last. Looking like a stair step. The tallest section is 10 stories tall and there is a large chute coming out of the building on the left side from the top floor sloping all the way to the ground. The first 7 floors are all missing panels and windows. The upper 3 floor still look to be in tact. A large yellow field is in the foreground with yellow flowers and the sky is blue and partly cloudy above.
