Looks like they are burning bunker fuel

There is a resale market for used jet engines to be converted to drive electrical generators for data centers. It avoids the regulatory and construction delays that would be incurred hooking those centers to the national electrical grid. So they have become quite popular. They produce a lot of CO2 and noise.
