#Friendica is compatible with both #ActivityPub and #Diaspora protocols, so it is possible to have the best of both worlds.

Hi, I'm using #Friendica on my single-user node. Beyond Mastodon and Pleroma, #PeerTube (video) and #FunkWhale (music) are also built atop #ActivityPub.

Is there anybody here that uses other Fediverse services, except from Mastodon? I have been fascinated by the whole concept of ActivityPub and federated social networks, but haven't seen great value on other Fediverse offerings. Am I missing something? 😅

The #ActivityPub Conf 2020
• 8/100 spaces left, you need to register, it's free

Following a successful inaugural conference in 2019, we have expanded APConf 2020 to a four day event that will occur entirely on line

The good thing about working on #Friendica is that I enjoy job safety. When I started working on it in 2016, the code base needed refactoring to ensure consistent behavior, testability and expandability. But we operate in such a fast-paced #ActivityPub context that even newish code needs to be refactored as well. 🤓

I hear you might like automated #activitypub test suites.

Also #mastodev question: I can't get calls on the Inbox to succeed. 🙁

Added documentation and a few NPMs to solve dependency issues I've been having. Looking for brave souls who want to test out running my #ActivityPub application.

I've started creating attachment previews for links from other people's #ActivityPub objects. Wish you used the rel tag on hashtag links, #Friendica.

Content warning: lazyweb, activitypub & federation

If APIs are deemed "novel intellectual property" in the Oracle/Google Supreme Court case, I guess that means #ActivityPub is pretty much in the clear anyway since the API is in the standard as POST/GET inbox/outbox and "send anything".

What'll be interesting is, in such a hypothetical outcome, whether devs will just change software licenses or change their practice away from REST.

There is a #github issue for #ForgeFed federation in #gitea but the devs want feedback before adding #ActivityPub #fediverse support:

1. Who wants this feature? Personal gitea user / Companies with private gitea / Git hosting website via gitea or others?

2. Why they need this feature?

3. How they want to use this feature?

Maybe you can help them and provide the answers.

#Mastodon and #Hubzilla don't work well together (#ActivityPub). When I post on Mastodon and someone using Hubzilla comments on my post I don't get any notification. The comment doesn't get added to "Notifications" tab, even when people specifically mention me in their comments. Sometimes I discover by accident that someone answered, sometimes not. Therefore, please don't get mad when you're using Hubzilla and I'm not answering, because probably I simply didn't see your reaction. :(

comment on shared AP post doesn't reach original post

I've commented on a #mastodon post which was reshared (boosted) by one of my mastodon contacts - i don't follow the author of the top level post.

My comment on the reshared item does not appear as a comment on the top level post, although it seems like it has been federated successfully.

I thought this kind of commenting on #ActivityPub posts was working properly, but actually it seems it's not?!
