One thing I really don't get about open social networks is "defederation" craze (on Diaspora it is more known as "shadowbanning") which is when one server blocks communication with another one.
I can get it when it happens as the last resort measure against spam attacks or other malicious interference but why on Earth any user would want it otherwise?
Would someone want cars hardwired not to drive to certain areas at all? Music players with censorship built-in blocking certain types of sounds from being played? E-mail which refuses to deliver messages to certain addresses?
There is damn blocklist (some platforms also have mute and ignore), use these as you like and stop your spreading your #fediblock bullshit. It is plain harmful for the network.
This is the new #FediBlock account. It is no longer a bot, which is why it moved from @botsin.space.

- feminism.lgbt was a mastodon instance that, on the surface, looked to be like your typical left-leaning instance, complete with a ridiculous about page
- in fact, that's why i signed up: i was disenfranchised from being constantly banned from mastodon instances for my edgy memes, and i wanted to bait one final retard into banning me so i couldn move on
- so you can imagine my surprise when sjw at feminism dot lgbt was actually an anime posting impostor. it was the perfect cover
- many fun times were had under this false impression, including very surprised mastodon users reporting sjw to himself and the first inklings of what became #fediblock
- however, one day we got a bit too cocky and trolled the wrong person. they started a mass email campaign to the registrar of .lgbt and got our domain take. away for "hate speech against the lgbt community"
- neckbeard.xyz was registered as a replacement, and sjw switched to hosting pleroma instead of mastodon
