Muse of June.

Already I hear thy silvered laughter ring,
and glimpse the playful radiance of your smile,
whilst the mild summer breeze, soft wandering,
stirs the flower-laden folds of thy gown.

Thou art the very heart of June itself,
a midsummer vision breathed from dream and dew;
and I—
a wistful child of summer—wait for thee.
