Got to test ride this yesterday. I didn't think there was any way this was worth the premium over a used 650-class bike. I was wrong. The handling is damn near telepathic, and the throttle is *perfect*. Dealer fees make it end up costing a Street Triple's MSRP, but I was still highly tempted. What a machine.

#BroughSuperior is another example, as well as #Norton (which as always been around), #BSA, etc. And there are several other nice brands...

Those are all classic brands that are trying to keep the original spirit of #motorcycling alive! I love that!

It was very sad when there were only the Japanese brands alive dictating the rules in the global #motorcycle market + #Harley-Davidson and #BMW.

When I went down to head over to my parents' place on my #motorcycle, I discovered that someone had torched my motorcycle's front wheel lock, broke off the ignition cover, and took enough of the ignition system so that it would no longer start. The ignition cover and the flare used to torch my motorcycle were both sitting on a curb near the elevators on the same floor of the parking garage.

This happened at some point since last Sunday (5/2), when I last rode my motorcycle.

Riding a #motorcycle for years and growing older have made me extremely skittish and beyond careful in traffic. While that's a good thing for motorcycle riding, that makes me a very unfun backseat driver for @glitter because I am legitimately scared at times. While I don't turn it into fights very often, we do both end up worn out after a while in the car.

Diesel motorcycles have been tried several times, mainly for military use it seems. I saw this diesel powered bike at Motorrad Days in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

(Update: I’ve been doing some searching to find out more about this. Looks like it is a Lombardino diesel engine transplanted into a 1979 BMW R45 frame. I’m guessing the tank came from a Harley, hence the badge. )
