The WordPress.com announcement about ActivityPub and while @pfefferle isn't mentioned, kudos to him for all the hard work you've done so far! ๐Ÿ˜

The install instructions are specific to WordPress.com of course. On a self hosted sure you probably already know how to install it!

I've got a personal site on WordPress.com. When can I enable ActivityPub on it?
@evan my official first day is the third of April, give me some more days ๐Ÿ˜‚
@chris I don't think that's true. When I go to the AP screen on WordPress.com, I am asked to upgrade to a business account.
Screenshot of the ActivityPub plugin in WordPress. The install button says, "Upgrade and activate." Below it is a warning, "You need to upgrade your plan to install plugins."
@evan Right now, that's how you'll get your blog on WordPress.com on the Fediverse.

If you self host your site you'll pay for that, and you'll be responsible for maintaining it, but you'll be able to install the ActivityPub plugin.

@chris @pfefferle
@chris yes, I understand that.

The next step in AP adoption is letting people with personal accounts, like me, enable ActivityPub on .com. I hope that's high on the priority list!

I asked when that would be coming, and Chris replied "now", which wasn't true.
@evan oh you mean when will the service do it for you... yeah I got nothing, I use rss to activity pub converters that are on github.
