I installed the recent stable version of #Friedica on a server:
Linux 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.73.el7.x86_64
PHP 7.4.33 (cli) 3.10.0-962.3.2.lve1.5.73.el7.x86_64

But it runs very very slowly - every new page to show in the browser takes very long.
Where to search for the problem?

The support of the server site tells me that the database connection slows down the page, the process

/usr/sbin/mysqld --daemonize --pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid

seems to be problematic.

A lot of speed depends on the SQL server. MariaDB/MySQL knows a lot of settings concerning the maximum numbers of open connections, the maximum numbers of open tables and a lot of cache settings. A first you should have a look there.

Thanks. Because it's not my webserver (not a root server with limited possibilities) I have no much influence of the settings of the DB server. Probably I have to give up the project.

At first do the following:

Activate the addon " rendertime". Then in config/local.config.php add the following line in the system section:

profiler' => true,

Then you should have got a better insight on what exactly causes the time issues. This addon adds some lines at the bottom of the page like these:
