First time at #IETF, our NTP lead developer David worked on Miroslav Lichvar's NTP v5 draft with the time protocol group.

David presented the hackathon results: two interoperable (experimental) NTP v5 implementations. Not bad for two days of work!

Our open-source NTP implementation, ntpd-rs:

#IETF115 #rustlang #rust
heh it was just yesterday when secure-ntpd have bitten me by running happily without doing an initial sync, basically letting the clock to be at whatever crazy value it pleases. Let's hope you do it with more care. 😉
@grin we certainly hope to take better care :)
If you ever try our impl, please let us know what your experience is.
The addition of NTS to our current ntp client and server, is planned to be finished in March btw
