!Friendica Support

Here's an odd thing I've noticed: When I interact with posts on Mastodon servers, frequently, the content doesn't show in my stream, not even under the "Personal" tab.

For instance, I commented on this public post on witches.live, but I can't see that comment anywhere on my feed. It doesn't appear in Latest Activity, it doesn't appear in Personal, and even if I go to the profile tab, it doesn't appear under Status.

I can fetch the post in Friendica by searching its URL, and when I do, I see the original post and my comment, with a checkmark confirming it was sent to the remote server.

But without looking it up directly like this, I can't see my own contribution. Which is quite strange.

I'm using version 2020.03 (because I still haven't figured out what I need to update in the YunoHost build script for the upgrade to 2020.07 and beyond).

Is this known behavior? Intended?
Great to hear! Thanks for the quick response.

I commented on the issue that you opened, maybe this helps them to update sooner.

Maybe there was a bug in 03.2020 that causes the problem, you should really push for the update. I don't get what is the problem, does YunoHost run several PHP versions on parallel?
I've been trying to push for it, but I'm also aware that it's an open-source project run and maintained by volunteers.

YunoHost only recently updated to be based on Debian Buster, which allowed PHP to be upgraded to v7.3 from v7.0. Friendica 2020.07, I believe, requires 7.3, so that was a bottleneck for a while.

In the past, I've updated the build script when doing so was as simple as changing the target file for the download and updating the checksum, but since there's a PHP upgrade and seemingly other backend changes between 2020.03 and 2020.07, I don't know if simply updating those values will suffice, or if more significant changes to the build script are required. I don't have a testing environment, nor do I really understand the process of packaging YunoHost apps, so although I'm the loudest voice clamoring for YunoHost updates, I never quite know what actually needs to be changed or how--otherwise, I'd certainly do it on my own!
