This is very worrying especially with the rise of these "AI" language models that can make it nearly impossible to detect these spambots.
Our Friendica and Peertube will still be ok since they require manual approval and everyone is forced to explain why they want to join, so I can filter out most of the bots. But our Nextcloud and Matrix are going to be flooded. I am worried about our Matrix that is perhaps already hosting a bunch of these bots and eventually we may be defederated from the greater matrix network.
I am afraid that it is going to become hellish for us who host these services because we do not have the resources and manpower to deal with this.
This looks ugly.
And it is, of course, another side effect of the trade-society we live in.
