Alleycat in Amber Light.
(To the ginger friend I met today) ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ธ

In my town - chilly and winding ways,
Where cobblestones remember days,
I met a cat, all sun and flame,
And though unnamed, he knew no shame.

He sprawled with ease on concrete bed,
A golden crown upon his head.
With half-closed eyes and knowing grin,
As if the world belonged to him.

His stripes, like stories - a true eye-saint.
Across his sides - a living tan.
A little king, without a throne,
Who live in that alley, he had grown.

No leash, no fence, no need to roamโ€”
The city's heart had made him home.
And though our paths were worlds apart,
He purred his way into my heart.

So hereโ€™s to cats who walk alone,
Yet make the strangest place feel known.
A fleeting friend, a gentle traceโ€”
A quiet soul in a noisy place.
