This is Tver. I went there on the last day of long May holidays just to see how it was there. Here is view of Volga river which splits the city in two parts.


For some strange reason some of views reminded me of Vienna - although these two cities have very very little in common in every imaginable aspect.


The city was mostly quiet and empty, the center looking very pristine.


Again reminding me of some European cities I visited in the past.

Is it so calm and empty due to covid, weather, time of a day or demography?
@Kazimierz Kurz I think - all of it. Except the virus which is not taken too seriously out there.

I think a lot of people from there spend a lot of time in Moscow (at it is only 1.5 hours away on express train) or in nature as there is not really much to do in the city itself. I think low income of the most residents plays the role here - few people have money to spend in restaurants and cafes.
