it seems that the account has been silently dropped from the instance.

considering that we learned about other objections re: newsie.social instance management, and that there was no communication from the admins, we're going to keep the instance silenced.

apparently newsie.social moderators decided that allowing the bloody newsmax – of all possible organizations – onto their instance is perfectly acceptable.

as a consequence, we're

• suspending the @NEWSMAX@newsie.social on circumstances,
• rejecting media from newsie.social on circumstances indefinitely,
• rejecting any abuse reports from newsie.social on circumstances indefinitely,
• limiting the newsie.social site indefinitely – at the very least until the situation gets rectified.

there's allowing different viewpoints, and there's inviting a white supremacist propaganda outlet into our spaces, and we're not going to have the latter.

cc: @jeff, who should really have known better than to allow fascist networks there.
