Even before I woke up the cats seemed to suspect something was up today, as a bunch of them worked together to pin me down in bed. Today was the big day for their cross-country road trip.
Vincent, after failing to pin me in bed, won the award for Hide & Seek Master, managing to squeeze himself behind the paint cans on a shelf in the basement where I would never have found him if he didn't give himself away.
But all the cats got loaded up into folding kennels in a borrowed van and we were off. They were all really good (as usual) and none of them even tried to escape when I was opening their kennels to check on them and give them food and water.
Fortunately they didn't spend the whole time screaming, and were stressed but quiet for the most part. It normally takes me about 9 hours to make the trek, but with extra stops to check on them and then hitting multiple traffic back-ups it took 10.5 hours :blobcatdizzy:
But at the end they had a brand new house to explore, and they've all been going all over and sniffing and jumping on everything. Tomorrow I'll open up the catio and hopefully the squirrels will put on a show for them.
This has been a day I've been dreading for a while but it went off without any significant issues and while it was really long and exhausting now it's over.
