TIL, Pleroma allows you to hide hashtags if you don't include them in the content of the message, but include them in the tags array in the AP message
a search for "#testing" that shows a message with the content "this is a test of hidden hashtags", that doesn't have the testing hashtag

I'm probably boring about this, but I unironically think that fedi would be better if common software did tags like Tumblr, outside of the post. Mentions too, I think people are only mad about Soapbox doing this because it's :woozydev:
