•I'm "people I know personally". A lot of my best friends and most steadfast allies are on this network and it means a lot to connect to them here.
There are also a lot of people I know who aren't here. I hope to see them here soon.

•One of the damning accusations against commercial social networks is their deleterious effect on our mental health, personal relationships and civic engagement.
They are tools to connect with other people, and yet they drive us apart, and make us miserable.
I believe we have a chance to make fediverse technologies make us happier.
