I have a broken microwave. I suspect the fix may be relatively easy for someone with basic familiarity with it, but the cost of having it professionally looked at is too high (both in terms of money and time). I expect there's so much stuff like that, which we calculate the options on and decide to throw away.

No one can be an expert in fixing everything, but if we get together community resources like this? Maybe we've got a chance.
