Reddit: Why do rings around planets like Saturn form as rings, as in why do they have a uniform shape, with all the debris rotating on the same axis?

Yeah that's curious. Without reading the link, i'd say that near-field force of electro-static energy keep the particles close together, and the long range force of gravity keeps the cluster of particles in orbit.
