!Friendica Support Hello, i've not used my #Friendica account for several months, & have forgotten how to do some things. Can you please advise me...

How can i hide / suppress / not see any Boosts / Reshares from people whom i follow? In my timeline i only want to see their own original posts, but not all the posts by other people that they have chosen to Boost / Reshare.

This is easy to do in my Mastodon instance, but i'm struggling with it in my Friendica instance.

Thanks.

@msdropbear42
At the moment, Friendica doesn't natively support hiding boosts/reshares.

@Nordafrica Thank you, but no that does not help. I have had that setting for a couple of years, but nonetheless i still get floods of boosts/reshares in my timeline from some people i follow.

Most of the people i follow use Mastodon [as do i, when not using Friendica]. Is it possible that this setting in Friendica works for other people using Friendica, but that possibly Masto code is not respecting this aspect of ActivityPub?

Sadly, i think i am going to have to unfollow some of the more prolific Masto boosters, in my Friendica instance, as i really do not want to see all these irrelevant posts.

@Droppie [anonsys] ๐Ÿจโ™€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿงโ€‹๐Ÿฆ˜ Yes, I have multiple Friendica accounts, and sometimes the same setting works differently from one account to another. I think this is mainly due to server updates. On my instance This setting works perfectly. In fact, you were the one who introduced me to Friendica the first time.๐Ÿ˜
@Droppie [anonsys] ๐Ÿจโ™€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿงโ€‹๐Ÿฆ˜ I also noticed that some settings only work for the web version with applications like fedilab These settings are not applied. I blocked a server on the web interface, unfortunately it always goes back to Fedilab.
@Droppie [anonsys] ๐Ÿจโ™€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿงโ€‹๐Ÿฆ˜ Just an idea if you're interested I use a circle as a timeline and not the normal timeline of Friendica it works perfectly for me it's heaven
If there is a bug regarding "boosts" from Mastodon not being seen/treated as such on Friendica I think a bug report should be made. Then the question is whether Friendica knows it's a Boost but doesn't treat it like it when filtering, or Mastodon doesn't pass along the information that it is the case, so Friendica doesn't know. But if Friendicas UI shows it as a boost/share then it must be a bug on the Friendica side...?
@marcus @Nordafrica I think i understand your point, but the trouble [that i have] is that personally i simply do not know if this is intended Friendica behaviour, or as you suggest a bug. It really needs comment by someone intimately familiar with the Friendica code, doesn't it?
