Hi all,

When I add a contact from another instance, why can't I see all the messages from all the users in that other instance in my TL?

In mastodon, in the TL always appear all the messages from all users of all instances of which I have added contacts. Instead, Friendica shows me only the messages from my contacts and the instance in which I have my account.

The community page offers the local and public timeline. This should be the similar behaviour.
@Michael Vogel I had forgotten to say, that I referred to the "global community page" as the TL (timeline on mastodon).
The global community page should display more posts. Or is it on your personal installation?
I think you linked two different behaviors together. The global community timeline on Mastodon and Friendica shows all the posts the instance or node is aware about and its behavior is only marginally influenced by who you follow.

When you start following a remote account, your node will be receiving their next public posts, so they will appear in the global community timeline. But your node won’t automatically start receiving all the public posts from all the users of the remote instance.

However, if other users on the same Friendica node as you are following more users from the same remote instance, their public posts will also appear in the global community timeline but it isn’t related to who you are following.
No, Mastodon and Friendica work the same way, they only show public posts they already received from the remote instance in the global community page. However, if you are on a Mastodon or Friendica instance where users are already following many users of the remote instance you started following a user from, it could give you the impression that following this user imported all of the posts of their remote instance in the global community page. This isn't what actually happens however.

What Mastodon instance are you registered on if it isn't indiscrete?
Then I don't understand anything.

I'm sorry, but I can't tell you. I hope you understand.

What I can say is, on this account I follow 1500 and on the mastodon account I follow 800.

Entonces no entiendo nada.

Disculpa, pero no puedo decirtelo. Espero lo entiendas.

Lo que si puedo decir es, que en esta cuenta tengo 600/1500 y en la de mastodon tengo 600/800.

@Hypolite Petovan
Of course, I understand, that's why I asked.

Bottom line is that both on Mastodon and Friendica the content of the global community timeline is the sum of the public posts from all your follows and the follows of every other users on the same instance. If you add a new follow, it will just add their next public posts to the global community timeline, nothing more, nothing less.

Search on Friendica is notoriously bad, but the fewer results may be because your Mastodon server has more users and content than your Friendica server, which is more likely than not.
