Hi all,
When I add a contact from another instance, why can't I see all the messages from all the users in that other instance in my TL?
In mastodon, in the TL always appear all the messages from all users of all instances of which I have added contacts. Instead, Friendica shows me only the messages from my contacts and the instance in which I have my account.

Yes, that page shows many more publications, but much less than I would expect.
As I said above, when comparing the public TL of my Mastodon account and the global community page of my Friendica account (in the latter I have almost the same Mastodon contacts and even more) I have noticed a big difference in the amount of posts.
And if I think about it, maybe I haven't taken into account another factor: The amount of users in the same instance. I do understand that. In addition to the number of messages posted by my contacts, there are also messages from other users in the same instance. This sum is different in Friendica and Mastodon instances.
Now that I look at this, I don't see much difference between both instances either. I still see big differences in the amount and variety of messages.

When you start following a remote account, your node will be receiving their next public posts, so they will appear in the global community timeline. But your node wonβt automatically start receiving all the public posts from all the users of the remote instance.
However, if other users on the same Friendica node as you are following more users from the same remote instance, their public posts will also appear in the global community timeline but it isnβt related to who you are following.

If I understand correctly, Mastodon and Friendica manage the relationship with the other instances differently.
While Mastodon adds all the messages from all the users in the added/followed instance, Friendica adds only the messages from the added/followed user.
This makes it more difficult for Friendica users to contact users from farther away. To discover new users in other instances I must either add many of the same instance or be very lucky that my neighbors on my instance also have many other contacts from that instance.
Another alternative is, to continue with 2 accounts: One in Friendica and another in Mastodon.
Even the Friendica search function shows very few results. Surely this also depends on the above problem, or am I wrong?
When I search from my Friendica account I get fewer results than when I search from Mastodon. At Friendica I have more contacts than on the other account.

What Mastodon instance are you registered on if it isn't indiscrete?

I'm sorry, but I can't tell you. I hope you understand.
What I can say is, on this account I follow 1500 and on the mastodon account I follow 800.
----
Entonces no entiendo nada.

Bottom line is that both on Mastodon and Friendica the content of the global community timeline is the sum of the public posts from all your follows and the follows of every other users on the same instance. If you add a new follow, it will just add their next public posts to the global community timeline, nothing more, nothing less.
Search on Friendica is notoriously bad, but the fewer results may be because your Mastodon server has more users and content than your Friendica server, which is more likely than not.
