Hi, for the past week or so, it seems to take 15-24 hours for Mastodon posts to reach my timeline. It's been slow before, but this seems especially bad. Is there a known problem here? Thanks.

Currently there is no known problem. Looks like your workerqueue is really full.

I don't know what a worker queue is. There are sometimes delays, bit it's usually not this bad for this long.

This post also took 13 hours to get here. I see this a lot on Friendica. Mastodon does not have this problem.

@cantences I have various #Friendica accounts [different instances], but i have practically-speaking more or less abandoned them, primarily for this issue. Most of my friends use Masto not Friendica, & delays of minutes to hours in F makes ~real time interactions with them impossible.

Is it the same for all Masto instances? I am right now getting answers to my posts within minutes, new posts from Mastodon social within an hour and your OP in 14 hrs.
My queue is 10-8.

It seems to be all mastodon.
I don't know what a queue is.

Only admins can see the queue.

It's a line up of jobs related managing a server's communication with other servers in the fediverse.

I have the same problem on venera.social It's on the same server I already informed the admin but I didn't get a response. All my subscribers receive my messages after 24 hours

I have deleted inactive/dead accounts on libranet.de and venera.social – accounts w/o login or w/o any public item in the last 2-3 years.

The deletion of those accounts and their stored content takes a lot of time and is responsible for the delivery delays and the occasional page loading errors.

I watch the progress and try to adapt the settings to mitigate the performance issues.

I think it will take some days until the jobs are processed.

@Steffen K9 🍮 @Libranet Support Do you have any updates? We're now at 4 to 5 days delay with Mastodon, so can't really have conversations.

I've noticed Diaspora posts seem to show up straight away, but my Friendica posts have several days' delay reaching Diaspora.

Ziemlich lange, schätze ich. Kommunikation läuft über die Voyager Sonden. 😀
Im Ernst - die Warteschlange ist noch immer sehr lang, nachdem etliche alte Accounts gelöscht wurden.
