I keep hearing about this white stuff I remember from years ago.... they're saying tonight may be the night. Our potholes never get filled, only widened & deepened.
Well, @Katherine Bond, it did snow (I waited before replying), but... not at all photogenic, more like... yuk. It's been dark grey/bright and asphalt and rooftops are covered with a combination of a light snow &/or slush, plus ice slicks.
I don't hear/see much traffic, no plows. Went out to do some needed food shopping, with phone/camera, but nothing inspirational to see, and just coming off my first serious cold in years, decided not to walk around (also holding a shopping bag in each arm and working not to slip). Oh well, not a wondrous snowy day to behold for me.
Here are some scenes from New York City during the last snow storm of the 20th Century, the Y2k Blizzard. Just about as devastating as the Y2k bug! Some nice, snowy, digital images of scenes around the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Winter 2000.
Sorry about your slushy snow experience @Michael Fenichel…and for having to walk in the cold while recovering from a cold. I’m glad you bottled snowy NY memories, because they’re beautiful photos. 😀
I can’t get out to shop because it’s still in the minus degrees here (wind chill not to be thought about!). My friend tried to get out today and she ended up having her car towed because it wouldn’t start. New battery needed. She tried going out on Saturday and ended up slipping and falling, so glad you made it home intact. I’m looking forward to possible highs in the teens this week and the promise of highs in the 30s next week. I think I’m done with winter. Bah humbug!

Fortunately, I bottled some snowy images back when snow was a regular thing here.
