Two in a row! Hashtagged on the first try. 💃
I haven't checked the timezones yet, but if the Southern solstice falls on a different date in yours, please treat this question as for UTC.
Even when I lived in the correct hemisphere I didn't commemorate it. The equinox however, we did. Mostly as an excuse to have beers with #equifoss friends.
If I remember. I forget a lot of stuff these days.
I’ll observe it; I may even go so far as to say “happy solstice” or something like that. But I don’t anticipate any festivities. If invited to a formal gathering I’d consider going, but I haven’t been invited and I’m not going to organize one. I called that “qualified no”.

I probably *should* throw a party. Lengthening days are the literal light out of the tunnel of seasonal depression, which has been crippling this year.
I’ll be celebrating the northern solstice. Does that count?
@bhawthorne It's your life, though, and you can toast the June solstice on December 21 if you like.

I would not stop you.
Huh. I was not familiar with the terms “northern” and “southern” to refer to the June and December solstices. I assumed by “southern solstice” you meant the December solstice as it was celebrated in the Southern Hemisphere, rather than “southern” as in the sun reaching the Tropic of Capricorn. But, yes, I will be celebrating the Capricornian Solstice!
I'm not sure if there's much signal here.

I'll do some celebration, so qualified yes.

Happy solstice to those who live on a tilted planet.
I’ll probably drink a (Dieu du Ciel) Solstice d’Hiver Bourbon barrel, if I remember.
How do I properly commemorate the southern solstice from the northern hemisphere? I want to do this right.
