I noodle with ukelele, guitar, and piano.... but lately I've been experimenting a lot with figuring out how far you can get musically when your only tools are free apps on a mobile phone.
Trance and techno, with a sip of 90s and a hint of modern EDM.
Reposts mainly techno, trance and the odd EDM track/mix. I don't repost spam or too far off-genre tracks.
I play a dozen or more instruments. None well, but I play for me. I also sing, but only when Iβm working alone because if I sing when Iβm not alone, I end up alone. Feels good to make music, even if itβs just for me.
Evan though I wasn't half-bad at it, I gave up piano at 8 and clarinet at 12. Music was something my older brother did really well. I just built go-karts and minibike. It's one of the dumbest things I ever did, and my biggest regret. (I mean, except for trusting a Morgan-Stanley broker during the dot.com bust.)
I used to play the piano & would like to again at some point. Iβd also like to learn how to make music with technology. At the moment though, the closest I come is recording really amazing sounds (rain, crows) to voice memo.
I have composed and released some music, and one of my songs was used in a TV show once, but I don't call myself a musician. At best I'm a hobbyist. @cambraca
But if I've fallen out of the habit, and rarely play my instruments these days, is it something I'm doing, or something I have done? I have the ability to make music, but do I?
I compose music. Does that count as making music? π I'm not a great performer, I trained my computer to be a better piano player than I will ever be. So... Qualified yes, I guess.

I voted "Strong yes" even though I haven't been making actual music for years and my skills are rusty. (Incidentally, the year I was on identi.ca and joined Twitter (2009) was the year I joined February Album Writing Month and discovered just how good I am at songwriting.) The novel I'm working on is in its final draft, so I'll get back to my music soon.

After 2 years, my final recital of "the Final Countdown" had to broken into 30s chunks in order for me to complete it.

•I'm a qualified yes. I learned to fiddle a few years ago, but I don't practice any more. I sing to myself or with my family.
