never a physical note, but sometimes I call or email.
I think my dislike of thank you notes came from the default of them: Oh, we collected gifts at :insert event here:, time to note down who got us what, write a form letter to each person, and say thanks!

I'd be much more willing to send a thank you note if it was a one-off, aka, it was meaningful: I've literally written nice letters to support agents I've talked to because they helped me through a particularly hard problem, and I hope it makes it to their manager.
I sent them for my wedding, but that’s about it.
I'm trying to send more thank you notes. I think the key to motivating myself to write them is nice cards, nice pens, and other flourishes, like the sealing wax my partner gave me over the holidays. Otherwise I just, like, send them a text or mention it next time I see them.

I can't remember the last time I got a gift from someone I wasn't just conversing with at the time.
I thank directly. Notes are an impersonal formality our parents drilled into us that does the job worse
So, I'm a "rarely".

I'd like to get to be an "often".
missed this poll but ALWAYS.
