Evan Prodromou reshared this.

I want to use none, but I am forced to use one for the corporate job.
You mean physical wall calendars, or calendar apps? Or how many personal/shared calendars within the calendar app?
one paper calendar, one on my phone/miscellaneous devices
one is physical the other digital (fastmail)
Mobile app calendar, to-do list app calendar and paper agenda calendar πŸ—“οΈ
β€’ Personal calendar for my personal life.
β€’ Personal calendar for work.
β€’ Team calendar for work.

I chose not to count things like project planning change management where dates are entered into that system and they can be viewed in a calendar form. Ultimately important dates from such systems get duplicated to one of my other calendars.

I also chose to not include other organization calendars that I help to admin, because I am not the approver on any of them.
Digital calender providers? One. Calendars (labels) within? About six. Paper wall calendars? One
This one is tough. I use a single calendar app, Google Calendar, that shows all of my events from multiple Google accounts as well as events from my work Outlook calendar. So, not sure if that is 1, 2, or 3+.
Did you mean "webcal:" ?
Do you mean calendars as in "separate things you write your appointments in" or calendars as in calendar systems ?
@jan so, in this scenario, you're wondering if I call different calendaring media (paper, electronic, megalith) or different calendaring apps just "calendars"? Or like Gregorian, Julian, Chinese, Jewish? Is that what you're asking?
@jan ah, ok. No. If I meant a calendaring system, medium, or software platform, I would have specified that.
How many do I actually use, or how many are in my calendar app, because that is not the same number. ::win πŸ˜‰
good thing that’s the answer I gave in the poll then!
I wasn't sure how to answer this.

I use two apps, Google calendar for work and Proton calendar for personal.

Within each app I have multiple calendars but they all show on the same calendar "view".

So I picked two.
I have 19 calendars. πŸ—“οΈ
I write to 3, an app writes data to another for me, I read from dozens.
Because of my work on email standards, I got involved in calendaring systems a little. This is pretty tangential, but I wanted to share that there is some *fascinating* work happening with technical systems and the Buddhist calendar, as well as other less mainstream religious calendars. It’s an interesting rabbit hole to read about for a while if you like that sort of thing.
Thanks to everyone who replied!

I'm 3+. I have one for work, one for personal appointments, a new one for school, as well as several shared ones for work and home. I also use a few reference ones like moon phase and national holidays. Plus two paper wall calendars and one chalkboard one!
@photovince was what an option? 3+? Yes, it's the last option.
I meant the whole particular list you summed up… that was what I found as well, the need to give a long footnote with a simple choice…
@photovince I guess I don't understand your question. Are asking whether it would have been ok to reply to my poll with more details about your own calendar usage? Yes, that would be fine.
Never mind - it was very much rethorical, and I was clearly neither clear nor clever. Looking fwd to the next polls πŸ˜€
pretty much stick to just the Gregorian
