I used to think I didn't like drinking tea, but then it finally dawned on me I don't like drinking herbal tea. I like drinking tea tea. ๐ Darjeeling is my current fav, but I definitely love an Earl Grey as wellโฆ
If "herbal" means "no caffeine", then I drink it ~monthly, because I'm usually making tea for my partner at the same time and she's a bit caffeine dependent. I usually drink herbal when I arrive home late at night and my throat is scratchy.
If "herbal" means "not Camellia sinensis" per Wikipedia, then I drink herbal ~weekly. I've been drinking yaupon recently, which is the only caffeinated plant native to the USA (it's a species of holly).
@renoirb I know! I just don't like to specify the terms in my polls. Part of the fun is thinking through what the terms mean, what the boundaries are, and what that means for you and for your answer.
No one else seems to like it, but I find it more pleasant than either peppermint on it's own (too thin) or liquorice on its own (faint bitter undertaste).
All other herbal teas smell nice and taste of nothing.
@Matt_Noyes I'm interested in my life and the world I live in. I like to think about them.
A lot of times, I'll wonder to myself, is this thing I'm doing normal? Am I an outlier on this topic? Do I have an unusual view of the world?
I'll post polls when I have those questions. Sometimes I already know how I'm going to answer, and sometimes I don't figure it out until the poll has been running for a while.
I like the results and I like the conversations that come up.

I have also liked rooibos in the past.

•Many of the native North American plants in my garden make good tea, like bergamot. It'd be a cool way to increase my native plant intake.
