Gotta love private #space flight. Two years later, an anonymous source said that people almost died during a Virgin Galactic suborbital test flight.

Frank Wijnans reshared this.

You know government spaceflight is propaganda too...
Do you know about any NASA flight that sustained life-threatening damage that we haven't known about only 2 years after and only from an anonymous source?
They send two vessels, to covertly increase the success rate(unmanned, not life threatening). And the rapport on the challenger disaster showed some less than open practices and covering up problems.
But your right: this looks as bad as the worst incidents of 50 years of NASA space travel.
(Let's ignore the USSR projects, kept secret until favourable results could be shown)
I was thinking about the Challenger disaster, and even though it is hardly comparable in terms of magnitude, it was investigated very promptly and very publicly.
You're right, NASA is pretty transparant.
But these kind of rumours are pretty common. And it's a bit soon to judge on the first news item. It looks like there are measures to counter the problems.
Time will learn: is it the ego of a dissenting engineer, or mismanagement...
Maybe I'll do something else for the holidays.
NASA transparent? They still don't wanna say if astronauts have ever had sex in space. They avoid the topic everytime someone asks. What are they hiding?
Ok, I give up: I'll stop defending those companies...

True, but I just want to know for scientific reasons.
