A couple of mighty fine #LEGO additions to my Mad Max: Fury Road War Rig from @Serial Builder
A couple of custom LEGO sets from the movie Mad Max: Fury Road. On the left, the gray hot rod driven by Nux. On the right, a rusted brown scout car called The Elvis after Ian "Elvis" Davis, the designer of the hot rod it's inspired from.
@Gerard Braad Thanks, I fixed the permissions of this particular picture. There is an ongoing GitHub issue about this problem.
@Gerard Braad Funny you should say this, I broke two Tile 1 x 1 and one Plate 1 x 1 during this very build.

I've grown to hate Reddish Brown for its brittleness (Dark Brown is also susceptible), especially when I build sets I intend to sell as it delays the time to market, and then the parting out is equally stressful. I always have a stack of spare Brick Round 1 x 1 in that color for this very reason.
@Gerard Braad It seems there are two separate issues:
- Displaying images in restricted posts (which is assuaged by the setting you mentioned in your comment), a long-standing issue with no good general solution in a federated context.
- Displaying images in public posts that are wrongly set as author-only, which is a somewhat recent issue with a clear solution, although finding the root of the issue isn't that easy.
@Gerard Braad For recent sets, this doesn't match my experience, LEGO USA has always been willing to supply replacement parts for free with few to no question asked.

For aging sets, I understand that LEGO doesn't want to address the problem directly as it is a complex engineering problem with a long test cycle. However, there is a strong secondary marketplace for spare parts in which they have invested recently by acquiring the BrickLink platform; so they don't have to fix the issue, they can just direct older sets owners to the marketplace they have now ensured the subsistence.
@Gerard Braad I have successfully shipped a couple of parts via BrickLink to a Chinese address six months ago so I'm not sure what's preventing you from getting deliveries. It would cost you an arm and a leg (minimum US $15 shipping from the US), but it sounds like it could work.
@Gerard Braad I'm sorry about that, it sounds frustrating.
