In my world more and more services are requiring phone number and using it for authentication purposes, not less.

They know it is insecure and privacy-invasive, however they just don't care. And they want our phone numbers.

I take it, t.co is telegram? well, telling about "not-identifying yourself" on resource that is nailed to phone numbers is kinda ridiculous :)

ok then. but I anyway don't trust those proprietary networks. it never can be controlled unless it's on your own server and you can check up the whole code.

Good for you, although not everybody can afford this justified distrust though, so there's always a need for a more accessible least worst choice.
