If you've only seen the bigots' backlash to Bud Light's rainbow can branding like me, you may not be aware about the larger competition for the #diversity market between beer brands in the United States. Bud Light actually dropped the ball and Modelo is picking it up nicely. #LGBTQ
@A Sweet Gentleman The original article noted that after Bud Light failed to stand by the trans actor that played in their ad following the online backlash, LGBTQ bars and allies also started boycotting Bud Light and possibly preferring Modelo.

More seriously, the joint ownership of both these brands isn't relevant to me. It still sends a message to other brands that may be ran independently even under the same ownership. I'm pretty sure Bud Light executives must be eating their hats even though Anheuser-Busch inBev executives may see this unfolding trend as a zero-sum game.
@samfromtheus That's capitalism for you. Companies aren't beholden to unprofitable things like empathy and ethics. It's shareholders all the way. As long as we're good consumers we get to feel supported and accepted.
