Now that is actually very interesting.

A new #protocol from ex-twitter founder Jack Dorsey&team, along with its base-to-be application BlueSky. Purposed as a general, open, large-scale, #distributed, #federated, secure data storage framework, tailored to social networking.

Which is in the works for years now, without any real world use 🤷‍♂️ Either itʼs overengineered already, or just a money drain (i strongly suspect the latter, but i might be biased against Dorsey&Co.)
@gergely I see the code and looks valid. I also see the protocol description and it contains a lot of good ideas.

There is no server and client, so I don't see any problem in lack of real-world use. 😁 Looks only natural.

Matrix needed 3-5 years to start.

The code is in the open, the spec is in the open, I don't feel any need for prejudice. Prove me wrong! 😉
Matrix was used here and there even in that 3-5 years (although I agree that it was a real niche thing back then). I canʼt prove you wrong, but Iʼm terribly sceptic ☺
@gergely I have checked the dev channels and they are using the code, but it's not even a prototype. I'll watch them.
I also wish someone other than bluesky implement the protocol ASAP, so they are forced to keep it in the open 😁
@gergely well it's MIT to anyone can clone. But why would anyone want javascript...
