I'm anxious to share this due to insecurities, but #peertube friends, would anyone be interested in watching something like this??

Also, feedback appreciated. I'm already gunna fix the cropped video and change the noise filter so that I come through a little less choppy. I know my speaking skills can use some work.

Thanks for sharing! I couldn't make sense of the bottom left space with text with regards to the game being played so an explanation seems welcome.

Quality wise, I feel like you need a better mic or closer to your mouth if you want to significantly improve the sound quality without having to resort to heavy post-processing. There's only so much software can do with a limited input. Also the mixing felt off as the game sound was covering your talk most of the time. Combined, I only caught 10% of what you were saying, but please bear in mind English isn't my primary language. Please consider adding subtitles, these are huge help to bring your message across.

Content-wise, you shouldn't be too worried about popularity. Do what you feel like doing, and people will come if they like it too. Worrying about popularity puts an undue pressure on something that should be mostly fun to make and publish.
I bought a cheap mic, but it sounds exactly the same as the other one. I've switched out the noise filter and now the sound quality overall is a bit better, but not very much, which in turn effects the live mixing. I could turn down the game volume a bit, but other than that, I'm a bit lost on what to change.
The sound quality is way better in this new video. The game audio is still too high, you should think of it as a background ambiance when you aren’t talking, so its volume should be pretty low. It’s particularly true for a game with no voice acting. Turn it down significantly and I believe you’re set audio-wise.
I'd add subtitles if only I had some automated assistance. On Youtube, subtitles are auto-generated. If I could do the same with libre software and just correct the mistakes, it'd be a lot less of a painstaking process.

As for popularity, it's hard to see a point in putting in all this effort if no one's watching. I'd rather keep the lamp off and the mic put away, and just play solo if I don't feel that people care to watch me. For just a small number of views, it feels like it's worth it.
Now that I could make sense of what you were saying, is the concept “AMA while I play Pokemon”? It may work better as a live experience than recorded sessions. Now that you have your capturing setup mostly figured out, you could look towards Twitch or Owncast to publish this kind of content.
The thing is, when I watch Youtube, I'm always watching streamers. I watch it for the banter, as well as the gameplay.

I want to do the same thing, but I don't have the bandwidth to steam sadly. I've improvised, by creating a script that pulls the newest questions from AskReddit every minute, as my source of banter.

I can have the script do anything, but this is the best idea I have at the moment.
That's a clever idea, and I feel like it would work really well in a live stream. A small suggestion: only show the two latest questions so that both you and the audience know the current topic. I initially thought about just the latest, but not knowing the frequency of how often people submit questions, having the previous one might be useful if you take more time to answer than the next question comes.
What'll I fill the extra space with?

Also, I found a tripod at thrift store for the exact same price as the lamp. It's in confusingly perfect condition. What's your take on camera position?
My idea was to show the latest question in a larger font in the top half of this square, and have the previous question in a smaller font in the bottom half of the square.

Camera position isn’t very important to me so it’s good, don’t overthink it.
