It's exactly the case that this regime of criminals and anti-science felons is prioritizing personal welfare over public. As they enrich themselves, they find and keep gullible 'believers' thinking any of what's being done - like gutting FEMA, education, health, science, and disease preparedness is what we need most. Priorities, "You betcha!"ā¢ļø A #cult of nihilism.
I'm just a scientist, so what would I know? I do agree, we ALL need real solutions. I do believe a tad more agreement over what is reality might help. ā®ļø
Agreed again. Now, my only wish is for less discussion about "you" and "them", and a lot more about "We", truly "We the People" who share this oxygen.
Lots of PTSD, in all places, all forms. And again you are right, the housing programs and approaches to help people are... "lacking". But blaming "them" or not taking personal responsibility ourselves, again - just my opinion - is just part of the driving people apart, which is just built in now, all in our own bubbles. š
The majority of homeless people are not homeless because of drug abuse. Without a house it's even harder to hold a job: think of basic hygiene, clean clothing, weather protection, regular sleep cycles, food conservation and cooking... Also the depressive states associated with homelessness will make you more vulnerable to substance abuse.
Full disclosure: the reality around me is the one of a southern European country. But "oddly" enough, capitalism does tend to create similar social problems everywhere, and around me the biggest cause of homelessness is the rising prices of housing that soared in recent years and have been pushing whole families out to the streets. Again, "oddly" enough, these are working people who just can't afford rent.
Regardless of any "name calling", which I think is the most irrelevant part of this exchange, we're being offered the opportunity to change someone's perspective through discussion.
People have been known to change their opinions. And, this being a public discussion, others (with less entrenched opinions), might be watching. Either way, "bringing in the National Guard" will not change opinions for sure.
Yeah @Katherine Bond, I thought it looked a little funny this time. Now I'm imagining someone coming across this discussion and wondering, "WTF are they talking about?"

•do you think the solution will be only solved by the National Guard or FBI or ICE ?

•finally the cost is not a problem for MAGA as soon as it's on their scope of thinking.
despite they know it's not a solution.
Is it just for communication ? the image ? just to occupy the mass medias ?
