Diesel motorcycles have been tried several times, mainly for military use it seems. I saw this diesel powered bike at Motorrad Days in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

(Update: I’ve been doing some searching to find out more about this. Looks like it is a Lombardino diesel engine transplanted into a 1979 BMW R45 frame. I’m guessing the tank came from a Harley, hence the badge. )
